London Moeder Advisors has recently completed two reports that address the elimination of minimum lot sizes for single-family homes in the City of San Diego. The existing minimum lot size is currently 5,000 square feet. By reforming this 100-year-old rule, the LMA report concludes that High-Density Family Homes (HDF) can be built on smaller lots at an average of 42% reduction in the housing cost. LMA supplemented this study by examining the fiscal benefits of a minimum lot size reduction.
